What We Do

Actions in process

Major initiatives dedicated to building a better future for Congo.

ICCOD-ONG carries out actions to enable sustainable development:

Securing Community Rights, Preserving Biodiversity, Fighting Poverty and Promoting International Cooperation and Development.

Pygmy peoples

ICCOD-ONG works ardently to protect the Pygmy people by securing their land rights, preserving their traditional way of life and conserving biodiversity.

Through awareness-raising initiatives, support for local development, protection of vulnerable people and international cooperation, ICCOD-NGO fights poverty, promotes climate education, promotes sustainable beekeeping and monitors human rights.

ICCOD intervenes by offering its support for the civil registration of children, even after the legal deadline, in order to respond to the challenges encountered by pygmies and disadvantaged families in terms of registration, due to financial constraints and limited awareness, thus highlighting the crucial importance of this approach.

Through an inclusive approach, ICCOD-ONG places Pygmy communities at the heart of its actions to ensure a better and more sustainable future for them and their environment.

Nature: Fauna & Flora

Saving nature in Congo is an essential priority to preserve the rich biodiversity of this region.

We are committed to protecting flora and fauna by taking concrete measures such as planting trees and respecting the ecosystem.

By promoting the regeneration of natural habitats and supporting sustainable practices, we aim to maintain ecological balance and preserve endangered species.

Our goal is to create a sustainable and harmonious environment where nature thrives and future generations can benefit from the richness and beauty of Congolese nature.

Natural disasters

In the face of natural disasters that devastate lives and communities, our commitment to helping and providing relief to victims is unwavering.

We are committed to providing essential and immediate support to those affected, offering them a helping hand in the most difficult of times.

Our mission is to enable them to rebuild their lives and regain their dignity.

Through our aid and relief actions, we affirm our solidarity with the victims and our commitment to supporting them on the path to resilience and reconstruction.

Childhood Malnutrition

Our priority is to ensure adequate nutrition for vulnerable children.

We distribute specific foods, such as nutritional supplements, fortified foods and ready-to-use therapeutic foods, to address nutritional deficiencies and promote healthy growth.

At the same time, we invest in sustainable agricultural production projects. We support families and communities in the development of innovative agricultural practices, focused on crop diversification, agroforestry and the use of environmentally friendly techniques.

These projects aim to strengthen long-term food security by promoting community food self-sufficiency.

The elderly

Older people, among the most vulnerable groups, are often forced into begging or vagrancy, with their ability to support themselves hampered. ICCOD pays special attention to this neglected population, seeking to improve their quality of life through income-generating activities. We recognize their value as active members of society despite their advanced age and work to preserve their traditional artisan skills, thereby contributing to both their individual well-being and the preservation of local cultural practices.

Our ultimate goal is to restore their dignity, engage them in enriching activities, and maintain them as meaningful participants within their community, contributing to an equitable and inclusive society for all.

Marginalized Disabled People

ICCOD pays particular attention to individuals living with disabilities and facing marginalization, aware of their extreme vulnerability. Often forced to beg, exposed to road risks and sometimes victims of attacks, these individuals find themselves in precarious situations, often without work opportunities due to their disability. In times of conflict, their vulnerability intensifies, leaving them without adequate shelter and often excluding them from aid distributions. Despite the obstacles, ICCOD is committed to supporting this category of people, working to preserve their dignity and improve their quality of life, even if limited resources pose challenges.

Indeed, ICCOD deploys initiatives aimed at offering them opportunities for empowerment, through targeted professional training and socio-economic integration projects, thus allowing people with disabilities to develop their skills and actively contribute to society, despite the obstacles that stand before them.
